Jonathan Cronstedt blogs on travel as part of the blogging challenge
I wanted to dive into some of my “habits and quotes” to share with you. Today’s quote is very personal to me. It is a Mark Twain quote that fits me and my personal traveling beliefs quite well. Traveling completely changed my views of the world. I found that as humans we have more in common than we have differences. Check out the quote below and my video blog: http://youtu.be/0O0JD3WA_nE
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”― Mark Twain
A few years ago I was in between two companies, I took six weeks and visited nine countries in Europe. It was a transformative experience.
It allowed me to see a focus on food, fun, family and a willingness to help others. There was a relaxed pace and it expanded my life.
Now, I seek travel every opportunity that I have and I would recommend to anyone wanting to travel more to read Vagabonding by Rolf Potts. It walks you through how to travel the world and spend less than you might have if you had stayed home.
It is an wide world out there with amazing stories and amazing people. It will forever change you.
